Demonologist is a ghost-hunting game where the main goal is to use your steampunk-inspired tools to figure out what’s making noise in other people’s homes that look like they’ve been abandoned. You can either go in by yourself and reach that goal, or you can ask a friend to help you. Who are you going to call if you find something strange in your house?
You and your friends will use tools to narrow down your choices and figure out what is causing the ghost. There are a lot of things in Demonologist, and it can be both exciting and hard to figure out what to do when things get scary.
Watch For Moving Objects And Flickering Lights
As you go from room to room and ask the spirits to show themselves or prove that they are there, some of them will start to mess with you. They can move big things in ways that seem random.
Plus, they can play with the lights and make them move or flash. They can also move the crosses on the walls and turn them upside down whenever they want. Use your tools to keep track of your contacts when you see something like this happening.
Don’t Go In Blind
If you think the area around you is too dark, you should go inside and start playing Demonologist game. Before you go wandering, it’s best to find a light switch and turn up the atmosphere.
It’s much nicer than walking around some rooms in the dark with only a torch. You don’t want to make yourself an easy target as you look around.
Calling To The Dead Causes A Reaction
Once you know how to play Demonologist, you’re bound to call out for any ghosts or other spirits in the house to come out. Even though the idea is cool, you’re asking for trouble if you do that, especially if you’re by yourself.
Be ready for a jump scare or some strange thing that you can’t figure out to shake you up. Don’t worry if your ghost friend breaks a few light bulbs. It probably likes being in the dark while it hunts you down for bothering it.
Leave The House When You Need To
Even if things are scary, you don’t have to stay inside the house when scary things start to happen. Most of your stuff is in the van that brought you there, which is parked outside. Just leave the house and go get what you need.
Make sure you don’t leave a friend behind, because if you do, they might get scared. It’s not easy to keep all the ghosts away by yourself, especially if you’re the one who made them angry. But watch out, because you might find something out there.
Apparitions Are Bad Omens
During your journey, things that look like they are made of clear glass will try to scare you. Don’t worry, these things won’t attack you or hurt you in any way besides giving you a small scare.
But if you see such a strange thing, it could be someone following you and trying to kill you. Just pay attention to what you can’t see through. That’s your cue to run as fast as you can. Apparitions can also help you figure out what’s going on.
Be Prepared To Run
A strategic withdrawal is not a bad idea. When you see something that isn’t a ghost running towards you, you should pay attention and get out of the house right away. The worst offenders often scream out the names of the ghosts in the area, which is, to put it mildly, not a good idea.
No matter if you’re a ghost hunter alone or with a friend, scary things will still try to hurt you, so don’t think that sticking together will solve everything.
Record Your Interactions
You’ll get tired of being scared and running around all over the place at some point. You’ll need to play the objectives, and one way to make that easy is to make a list of all the proof you find.
Pay close attention to the things you use and learn what they are called. Once you’ve used that tool, you can mark it off on the page of proof and figure out what you’re up against on your own. So, you can handle the situation better and do a great job with all the tasks you are given.
Use The Ouija Boards
As if going into a haunted place wasn’t bad enough, Demonologist wants you to actively look for these ghosts and call out to them. Check the room once you’re inside the house to see if there’s a Ouija board you can talk to.
You can turn on your mic as soon as you pick it up and ask the ghost a question. It’s a great way to figure out where they are because they tell you. It’s better than just using an EMF reader and going in blind. But be careful, because they can break.
Try To Stay Sane
In Demonologist, your character has a mental metre that they have to watch. Seeing someone die in front of you is shocking enough to make your character start to get scared quickly. Don’t worry if your screen starts to shake or get fuzzy.
The best way to stop feeling sick is to leave the building as soon as you can. If you don’t, you might die too soon, and you won’t be any closer to figuring out what’s going on.
Do NOT Stare At Paintings
One of the worst ways to scare yourself is to give a picture the “death stare” and then call out the name that is written on it. This will cause a jump scare that will make you scream and run out of the room.
If you’re feeling especially sneaky and you’re playing with other people, you can suggest that to a partner who doesn’t know what you’re talking about. As long as they don’t take it too seriously, at least.
Buy Equipment
This game is all about giving you tasks to help you figure out what’s causing a haunting and show it to the agency you work for. In return for your hard work, you get money that you can use to buy more gear.
In Basket Random game, you need equipment if you want to figure out and correctly guess what kind of entity you’re working with or might anger by being in a room. Don’t forget to get some before you start running.
Expect A Slow Progression
Be ready to play this game for a long time, since you have to beat level one at least ten times before you can move on to the next one. Even though this heavy grind can get boring, it does help you get ready for what’s to come.
Even buying a candle or a camera will cost you an arm and a leg, so you’ll get used to it. It seems that no price is too high if it means solving the puzzle. If you want, you can make the game harder once you reach level 5.
