Here are the Talents you should focus on when you first start your journey in Afterimage!
Moving through the world of Engardin in Afterimage can be hard, especially if you aren’t ready or don’t know much about the Metroidvania genre, in which things can quickly go from bad to worse.
But if you focus on the right Talents (Skills), you can be pretty strong right away, even if you don’t have the best Weapons or Armour Sets. No matter how you play Afterimage, you should be able to find a way to make its systems work for you, whether you like to be a fast, brave fighter or a slow, methodical one.
Talents Overview

In Afterimage, Talents are like Skills. They let you do things like improve your Damage, learn new attacks, raise your Max HP and MP, and a lot more.
But in order to get Talents, you need Talent Points, which you can get in a number of different ways.Below, you’ll find a list of all the ways you can earn Talent Points.
How To Earn Talent Points
- Some Bosses could give you a prize if you beat them.
- Some Recipes are being eaten for the first time
- Often found in hidden places or hard-to-reach places
- When you level up, you get one Talent Point.
- Talent Points will be given to you when you finish some quests for NPCs.
- Can be bought from certain Merchants
Resetting Talent Points

Before you start thinking about how to spend your Talent Points, you should know that you can Reset all of the Talents you’ve unlocked, giving you the chance to choose new ones that fit your new play style or build.
To do this, you need to use a Potion of Oblivion, which is a rare Consumable Item you can find while wandering Engardin. If you use this item, it will reset all of your talents and give you back every Talent Point you paid.
This will be very helpful if you decide you like a different Weapon Type better than the one you’ve been using or if you want a more focused build that depends more on MP. No matter why you want to do it, you can do it as long as you have the Potion of Oblivion.
Enhancing Talents

Before we talk about the best Talents in Afterimage, we want to mention that you can Enhance Talents. This lets you make almost every Talent in the game much stronger.
Depending on your level, you won’t be able to use certain talents to improve yourself. Keep this in mind as you play the game. It’s easy to forget, but it’s a very important thing to keep in mind.
If you can improve Talents that give you more HP or Main Weapon Damage, it changes the game and gives you a big advantage in fight. These will almost always cost more Talent Points than One or Two, but they are worth spending those valuable points on.
Best Talents

Now that we know what Talents are, how you get them, and how you can use them to improve your builds and play styles, it’s time to talk about which ones are the best and should be your main goal right away.
Best Talents In Afterimage

Wisp of Devotion | Healing potions and Primaeval Glyphs are much more powerful. |

Wisp of Concentration | Chances of getting a Critical Attack are much higher. |
Wisp of Precision | When you make a Critical Attack, it does a lot more damage. |
Preferred Main Weapon Talent | Unlock the first Talent from any of the six Weapon Types you want to use as your Main Weapon. |
Preferred Subweapon Talent | Get the first talent for the type of weapon you want to use as your subweapon. |
Additional Notes
Some of these may seem clear, but there are a lot of things in the table above that we think will be missed, even though they are important to Drive Mad game’s combat.
Also, you don’t have to gain the Talents for all six Weapon Types if you never plan to use them. Instead of spending your Talent Points on weapons you won’t use that often, hold on to them until you Level Up more and can spend them on other Talents.
Some bosses and enemies will be very hard to kill if you don’t have a high Critical Attack Rate and Critical Damage. Make sure to work on this as soon as possible, especially if you use Dualblades, Blades, or Scythes as your Main or Subweapons.
Last but not least, don’t forget that you can always use a Potion of Oblivion to Reset your Talent Points if you think you made a mistake or aren’t happy with your current build or performance. There are many Talents to get, so it’s part of the fun to try out new builds all the time.
