Fans have been waiting a long time for a sequel to The Legend of Zelda, and Tears of the Kingdom is it. Breath of the Wild was a big hit in 2017, and it looks like its follow-up will be the same. Even though so much about the experience hasn’t changed, sales are through the roof.
Most of the same places in Hyrule are still there in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but there are a few changes here and there. There are the sky islands and the new powers, for example, that they have to deal with. So, here are some easy-to-understand tips for beginners who want to start their trip off right.
Turn On The Pro HUD
As soon as the player takes control of Link, they should change two things. First, change the X button on the Switch controller to the B button. It will feel strange to use X to run, but not as strange as when you use it to jump.

Fill Out The Map

If people can see all of them, it will be easier to figure out where they are. Around the Hyrule Ridge area, there are also a lot of great quests that open up on the way to places like Hestu. Your First Armor And How To Upgrade It
Purah lives in Lookout Landing, which has a lot of great quests and shops to help new explorers get started. For example, buying all the Hylian armour at that shop might be a good idea. Even with the gear on, Link can still die pretty quickly, so players should know that these armour suits can be upgraded.
In Tears of the Kingdom, there are four Great Fairies. The one closest to Lookout Landing is northeast of the Woodland Stable. This will start a quest at the horse stables in which a travelling band plays music to wake up these magical NPCs.
Favor Hearts Over Stamina
This is obvious advice, but if you are on an exploration quest, you should go to any Shrine. Even if you can’t solve them, starting a Shrine will let you use fast travel, even if you can’t solve them. In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, completing Shrines will give players access to light, which they can then spend at Goddess statues to improve their stamina or heart gauge.
Players should always choose upgrades that give them more hearts over ones that give them more energy. Slope Game can get hard, and they will need all the help they can get. Even on a mountain climb, it’s not hard to cook food that will give you energy.
Spam Amiibo For Easy Items
Is that Amiibo collection just sitting there collecting dust? The good news is that players can use every toy they’ve gathered with Tears of the Kingdom. Most of the time, the Zelda Amiibo will give players rarer things, like tools from heroes of the past.
Most generic Amiibo, like any character from Fire Emblem, give money or food things. This is a quick way to fill up on food, and there is no limit to how many players can do it. You can cook fruits and vegetables and then sell the meat in these drops.
Take Manual Notes
On their trip, players will meet a lot of NPCs, both in stables and towns and among other people on the road. Often, they will tell Link about a story close by or farther away. Most of the time, these notes won’t be written in the logbook unless they are part of a task.
Players should take action themselves and write down notes by hand instead. For extra protection, write them in an app on your phone or take some screenshots on your Switch.
ABS: Always Be Saving
The save word hasn’t changed since the first game, and each Switch account can only have one manual save file. In an open-world game, bugs are likely to happen, so it’s best to have more than one file on hand.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has them, but they are saved automatically. Depending on the case, they can help a player get out of trouble. Even though there aren’t many choices, it’s always a good idea to save the game by hand, especially when it looks like a fight is coming up.
